The Electric Barge is a unique floating events venue based on the Grand Union Canal in Paddington. We operate catered canal cruises along the Regent’s Canal between Paddington and Kings Cross. Events Supervisor
Role: Events Supervisor
Salary: £30,000 per ANNUM, PRO-rated
Contract: Temporary (12 May – 30 September 2025), full-time 37.5hpw

We are looking for skilled hospitality professionals with experience supervising or managing teams and events.
Successful candidates should have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work on their own initiative, and strong communication skills to build relationships with colleagues and customers alike. This role primarily involves evening and weekend work.
essential Experience & Skills
At least 2 years' experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role
At least 1 year's experience supervising/managing a bar
Experience managing a team
Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting workloads and priorities
Ability to work on own initiative and take proactive decisions
Key Responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for all hirers and event organisers on board the Electric Barge (EB)
Ensure all event elements (catering, music, AV equipment, entertainment, etc.) are in place to required standards
Liaise with EB Skipper to ensure crew understand their responsibilities, particularly regarding health and safety
Manage all aspects of event planning and operation from first contact to post-event communication
Lead the crew to ensure excellent service standards and customer experience
Deploy crew effectively throughout events, providing development opportunities
Manage stock levels, place orders, and check deliveries for upcoming events
Ensure proper cleaning and preparation of the venue before and after events
Complete and submit event documentation and reports

Events Crew (Freelance)
Role: Casual Events Crew
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Contract: Freelance
We’re looking for upbeat freelance Events Crew to join the team on board the Electric Barge.
Join our freelance events crew on board the Electric Barge! We offer competitive rates of pay and the flexibility to choose your shifts. Mostly evening and weekend work although more mid-week work will be available throughout our peak summer season from July to September. The average shift is 5.5 hours long.
